Fellow Namibians,

President of ANUK: Theresia !Gorases
I would like to use this opportunity to thank all Namibians, nationally and internationally who have shown interest and support in the operations of ANUK. It has been a challenge uniting our people, but you have all made it possible by being instrumental in being the leaders in assisting and indeed a partner in mobilizing the Namibian community and showing unity, not only in the UK but also across the globe.
The final draft of ANUK Constitution has been implemented. The document defines and outlines ANUK’s current structure, as well as our operational policy and practice. Copies are available on request.
The capacity in the organisation is growing, and our aim is to work towards meeting individual needs, by creating opportunities and empowering Namibian Nationals to achieve good quality life, both academically and socially. I am proud to say that Namibians are caring and loving people, and this you have demonstrated through showing unity and solidarity. Let us continue to show this through all our dealings.
ANUK recognises the work undertaken by individuals, and organisations that have contributed to sparking a new era in Namibian initiative. Organisations such as, Huisen Ltd, responsible for regrouping Namibians under a common umbrella, Hoadadi for making use of modern technology, empowering all Namibians all over the world to communicate at the click of a mouse, and spreading information about activities organised by ANUK.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the High Commissioner and Consulate, for the continual support and guidance. As Namibian Nationals in the UK and under the banner of the Association of Namibian Nationals in the UK (ANUK) we pledge our support to your policies of reconciliation and growth and promise that in our daily conduct we will strive to be good Ambassadors of our beautiful country, Namibia.
I thank you all.
Theresa !Gorases
President of ANUK and Republic of Northern Ireland.

NAMmodelz Advises on how to build up your PORTFOLIO…
In the Modelling Industry, a Portfolio is your CV.
Any model knows that a PORTFOLIO is the most important investment in her/ his Modelling Career. You need the right portfolio to approach professional agencies. High street make over shots or home shots are just not good enough and not acceptable.
Every SUCCESSFUL model can build up a portfolio over time, as you take on more jobs. The best way to update your portfolio is to UPDATE it every six months as, of course you change-your hair might be different and your weight might be fluctuating.
When you first start to get bookings, it does make sense to keep a second portfolio that contains your latest photos.
EXPRESSIONS
Well in some sense modelling is like ACTING. You are acting up to a camera, creating different emotions. I’m sure you have seen a great picture of a model in a Fashion magazine, and you see her in real life, you think “oh she looks so different”. Well... Agencies like versatility, Model who can master different looks and expressions to give agencies what agencies require.
INTERESTING FACT
Why Michael Jackson is such a legend with his moon walking… He mastered his dancing by practising in front of the mirror ALL THE TIME. This can be indeed a TIP for you, as practicing does, indeed make perfect. Try perfecting some POSES by practicing some expressions in front of the MIRROR. Models who can only master one pose, are LIMITING themselves. Check out some magazines and collect some tear sheets, you can always LEARN from other models.

The likes of Gal Level, Sunny Boy, Jericho and etc. are all not on the list for one reason or another. One could argue that the artists are enjoying recognition at a level where they enjoy cross-country coverage and exposure, especially The Dog, Sunny Boy, Gal Level and Lady May who where all nominated for the Channel O Music Video Awards 2008.
The latest dismay comes as Phura and the duo of Raphael & Pele are said to have pulled out of the awards. There are claims that it is because of alleged corruption in last year’s awards. The awards have long been criticised for the alleged unfairness in the voting system.
The Sanlam Awards could be a great success with Jackson Kaujeua, Ees, Tequila, Onyoka and Tate Buti fairly deserving their chances. comment here

Sanlam NBC Music Awards stumbles along as Phura and Raphael & Pele are reported to have withdrawn their interests.
Sanlam NBC Music Awards are seen by many as the premier awards when it comes to the Namibian music industry but this year’s edition of the annual stunt seems a bit doomed. It all started after the biggest names of the awards for the past six years were missing from the initial list of nominees. The likes of The Dog and Gazza who both dominated the event with their love of the “Artist of The Year” Award which they juggled amongst the two of them for the past five years since the inception of the awards had also lost interest.
